Land status is a parcel question
A parcel within a reservation boundary may be fee simple, Tribal trust, individual trust, restricted Indian land, a restricted allotment, Tribal fee, or an allotted interest with fractionated ownership. Determining which requires looking at that specific parcel, a boundary map cannot tell you.
This matters for probate, for mortgages, for leasing and for taxation, and the answer routinely differs between two tracts that look identical on a map.
